Allison Roe

Allison Pamela Roe, MBE (née Deed; born 30 May 1956 in Auckland) is a former long-distance athlete from New Zealand. In 1981 she won both the Boston and New York Marathons in course record times. Later that year she broke the world record at the New York City Marathon and set a 20 km world record in Miyazaki, Japan.

Roe's victory at the 1981 Boston Marathon clipped nearly 8 minutes off the previous course record set by the previous year by Jacqueline Gareau.[1]
